Zagi 48" Wing

Once the Bixler had plenty of hours on it the decision was made to build a FPV capable wing. Here is the build thread:

Started work on a Zagi flying wing this weekend. It was originally just a LOS model but started a conversion so i can build up some experience before building the Scout Bee.

Anyway here are some pictures:

As you can see, batteries in the wings as per TBS zephr. Decided to cut right through the wing section and make boxes for the LiPos to go in so i can quickly change batteries. Ignore the fact that they dont match, they will do once completed!

Camera mount for the GoPro - Also a TBS copy except made out of 6mm depron.

Specification so far:

Motor: Turnigy 2826 2200kv swinging a 7x4 APC prop
ESC: Turnigy Plush 40a
Servos: MG90s
Batteries: 2x Turnigy Nano-Tech 1300 3s

Got some more progress done this evening on the Zagi. Got pretty much all the wiring/components in but its at that stage where it just looks like a big mess! So needless to say the pictures are very flattering!

As you can see, VRX in one side EzUHF on the other, with the EzOSD in the middle. Had to switch to a bog standard HK speed controller as the Plush had timing issue on this motor.

NGhobbies vtx power suply fitted next to the EzOSD. The amount of wires was a bit of a mind blower to start with! Running a shielded USB cable to the wingtip for the vtx.

EzUHF on the other wing tip, note to self, "dont put any spars in until last! Wires are a nightmare to negotiate around spars!"

Finished the Zagi tonight! Well pleased with the result. Hopefully maiden this weekend :) Made a few changes but it is pretty much as planned. Biggest difference is that i now have 2x 1800mah 3s lipos in there instead of the 1300's. Mainly due to the fact that i knew it could handle the extra weight and i really wanted the extra capacity!
Anyway here are the pics...

All up weight is 1075g not too bad i think. It has plenty of reinforcement so should be strong.

Specification:

Motor: Turnigy 2826 2200kv - 7x4 prop 390w - 7x5 prop 430w
ESC: Turnigy Plush 40a
Servos: Turnigy MG90s
Lipo's: Turnigy 1800mah 3s 20c-30c
Ubec: Turnigy 3a
OSD: EzOSD
Tx/Rx: EzUHF
2.4ghz Vtx
Camera: GoPro Hero 2 - Using live out, hope to make a mini usb lead soon so i can charge whilst flying.
